The representative of Somali Olympic committee for zone four southern regions, Mahamed Muse Abdi [Jabroos] has vehemently lauded for the recent Somali football federation election congress, which ended successfully.
In an emailed press statement, Mr. Jabroos said that he was happy with how democratically the election went place and extended his sincerest congratulations to the president-elected, his executive committee members and the entire staff of Somali football federation.
"On behalf of the southern regions of Lower Jubba, middle Jubba and Lower Shabelle, I praise the historical step taken by Somali football federation which added members from the regions into its executive board and already extended football activities through entire Somali regions-this is a big achievement that has never been made in Somalia before" he said.
"I Pray to Allah, to help Somali football federation succeed in accomplishing the very huge duty it has embraced, and I call on other sporting federations in Somalia to take such step so that they can spread their activities throughout Somali regions like the SFF has done" Somali NOC`s representative for southern regions said in his emailed statement on Thursday night.
For the past several days, congratulatory letters from, FIFA, CAF, CECAFA, the national Olympic committee of Somalia and Somali sporting individuals were pouring into the Somali football federation secretariat desk. All praised how democratically the election was managed.
Although, the lawless country is experiencing one of the most dangerous times it eve faces, then Somali football seems to be recovering from years of setbacks with the SFF forming earlier in the year three categories of national teams for the first time in Somalia`s football history.
